Emanuel Navarrete stopped Eduardo Nunez before the 11th round to unify the WBO and IBF super-featherweight titles in Arizona. The three-division champion improved his record to 40-2-1 (33 KOs) in the all-Mexican clash, while Nunez dropped to 30-2 (28 KOs) in the biggest fight of his career.

Navarrete dominated much of the bout, stepping up his attack in the ninth round with a string of right hands that made Nunez's legs wobble. Blood poured from Nunez's right eye in round 10, but the Mexican fighter refused to back down until the ringside doctor called time on the contest ahead of the 11th round.

"It's difficult to see your opponent hurting in there, but it's also really difficult to not continue," Navarrete said after his unification victory. The champion looks primed to face WBO mandatory challenger Charly Suarez next, having fought to a no-contest last May. This solidifies Navarrete's position among boxing's elite super-featherweight contenders.
