Champion trainer Willie Mullins is considering fielding a runner against Constitution Hill in the £40,000 maiden at Southwell next Friday, adding intrigue to the superstar's Flat debut. The former Champion Hurdle winner has fallen in three of his last four starts over jumps, prompting trainer Nicky Henderson to test him on the all-weather.

Constitution Hill will be partnered by champion jockey Oisín Murphy in the mile-and-a-half novice event, with prize money potentially attracting runners from top Newmarket yards like John Gosden and Roger Varian. Mullins confirmed he's exploring options from his Closutton base, though he hasn't yet spoken to owners about the potential entry.

The switch to Flat racing follows Constitution Hill's recent jumping troubles, though Mullins downplayed concerns about the horse's technique. The trainer suggested the move could lead to further all-weather outings or set up another Cheltenham Festival bid, while maintaining that Henderson's experience with multiple Champion Hurdle winners means he won't second-guess the decision.
