Rory McIlroy is embracing a part-time approach to his PGA Tour schedule, playing his sixth regular event of the year at the Memorial Tournament. The 37-year-old world No. 2 has been more selective since April, opting for balance over a packed calendar. McIlroy confirmed he will continue picking and choosing events, prioritizing quality over quantity in his coaching career.

McIlroy returns to Muirfield Village after skipping last year's edition, eager to add the Memorial to his trophy case alongside the Genesis Invitational. He expressed confidence in maintaining PGA Tour status with a limited schedule, stating he could finish in the top 100 without issue. The Northern Irishman also addressed US Open preparations, commenting on green conditions at Shinnecock Hills.

Regarding the US Open, McIlroy hopes officials keep green speeds reasonable, noting current readings around 11-11.2. He believes anything over 12 becomes problematic, referencing past US Open struggles with overly slick surfaces. His focus remains on securing key victories while managing his schedule strategically for the remainder of his career.
