Hibernian have appointed Marink Reedijk as their new manager, following the sacking of David Gray eight days ago. The 35-year-old Dutchman arrives from SK Beveren, having won the Belgian second-tier title with an unbeaten campaign. Reedijk has also worked in academy positions at Ajax and West Bromwich Albion.

He expressed honour at the appointment, citing the club's ambition and passion. Hibernian sporting director Malky Mackay praised Reedijk's philosophy and leadership, while executive chairman Ian Gordon called him the standout candidate. Reedijk will travel to La Manga for a training camp, with his first match against Dundee United on October 10.

Hibs are currently 10th in the Scottish Premiership.
