Leeds United chairman Para Marathe told Sky Sports he wants manager Daniel Farke to remain at Elland Road well beyond this season. Farke, appointed in July 2023, delivered a 14th‑place finish on the club’s 2025/26 Premier League return and is tied to a contract that runs to summer 2027. Marathe said any extension talks are confidential but he “absolutely” wants Farke to stay.

Marathe stressed that both he and Farke share the same three‑year ambition and that Leeds United is larger than any single figure. He announced captain Ethan Ampadu has secured a new four‑year contract, cementing the 25‑year‑old’s role as a leader on and off the pitch as the club prepares for the upcoming transfer window.

Marathe acknowledged the squad needs reinforcement now that the quality pool has grown. He explained the shift from Profit and Sustainability Rules to the Squad Cost Ratio means Leeds can spend roughly 85 % of its revenue, a lower ceiling given the stadium’s ongoing development, forcing a more strategic approach to signings.

With the captain locked in and the manager’s future ostensibly secured, Leeds can focus on navigating the SCR constraints while adding depth to a squad that already exceeded expectations. The board’s intent to keep both Farke and Ampadu signals a commitment to stability as the club targets a mid‑table finish next season.
