England's Lottie Woad positioned herself perfectly for next week's KPMG Women's PGA Championship by posting a bogey-free 66 at Blythefield Country Club. The round featured six birdies, moving her to nine under par and within one shot of the halfway lead. Woad, already a winner at the Kroger Queen City Championship this season, showed strong form heading into the major.

Woad opened on the back nine, carding consecutive birdies at the 14th before taking advantage of the par-five 18th. She added another birdie at the fifth hole and closed with a birdie on her final hole. 'I do like playing the week before when possible - I want to do that to get the momentum going,' Woad said, referencing her tied-49th finish at the US Open.

Leader Jing Yan matched Woad's 66 to reach 10 under, while Cassie Porter sits alongside Woad in tied-second place. Minji Kang and Yan Liu share fourth position at eight under. The leaderboard shows competitive scoring heading into the weekend rounds.

World No 2 Jeeno Thitikul surprisingly missed the cut after a second-round 70, along with England's Mimi Rhodes. Woad's timely form boost makes her a legitimate contender as the final stretch of the Meijer LPGA Classic unfolds before the season's next major championship.
