Gian van Veen Stands Firm on Littler Dispute After Controversial Match

Gian van Veen says he sees no need for a conversation with Luke Littler to resolve their Premier League spat following their controversial match in Manchester. The Dutch player maintains his stance after Littler reacted angrily to Van Veen's actions during a dramatic deciding leg in early April.

Van Veen told Sky Sports that Littler was 'out of order' for celebrating towards the crowd, which prompted him to stare at his opponent. Littler, who missed match darts at double before losing, later claimed his celebrations were directed at his girlfriend and father, not Van Veen. He also called the Dutch No 1 a 'cry baby' for putting his darts down while the match was still in progress.

Despite hearing Littler's perspective, Van Veen insists his opinion remains unchanged. 'He said his piece the other day. I still have the same view as I had two weeks ago,' Van Veen stated. The pair could meet in the semi-finals of this week's Premier League Darts in Rotterdam, where Van Veen says there are no hard feelings but he's not seeking reconciliation.
