Crystal Palace secured a useful point at in-form and unbeaten Leeds as Pierre Sage's side produced a much-improved defensive display to hold the hosts to a goalless draw at Elland Road. The stalemate lifted Sage's side one point clear of the relegation zone heading into the three-week international break. Palace arrived having conceded 11 goals in their opening four Premier League games but, after a cagey first half, grew into the contest and were the more threatening side after the break.

Tyrick Mitchell had the ball in the net only for it to be ruled out for offside. Leeds, unbeaten coming into the game after an impressive 4-1 win over Newcastle, struggled to reproduce that attacking fluency. Dominic Calvert-Lewin was largely starved of service, eventually being denied by Walter Benitez after the break.

Palace had chances to snatch it late on, with Adam Wharton continuing to influence proceedings and Eddie Nketiah and Ismaila Sarr combining for an opening that Tarik Muharemovic brilliantly recovered to stop. Leeds threw on attacking reinforcements but could not find the breakthrough. For Palace, after conceding two or more goals in each of their previous 10 Premier League matches, they finally kept a clean sheet - and did so against a Leeds side that had scored 12 goals across their previous five home league games.

The performance gives Sage a platform to build on after a difficult opening month.
