Charles Leclerc has extended his Formula 1 career with Ferrari, turning down offers from competing teams to remain with the Italian squad. The 28-year-old driver, who joined Ferrari's academy in 2016 and debuted in 2019, signed a new contract that guarantees his presence through the end of the 2026 season at minimum. Despite having alternative options in F1, Leclerc emphasized his belief in Ferrari's rebuilding project under team principal Fred Vasseur.

Leclerc has secured eight race victories and reached the championship podium twice since joining Ferrari, though his best final result was second place in 2022. Ferrari endured a difficult 2025 campaign without a win, finishing fourth in the constructors' standings. However, the team has shown improvement in the new F1 era, with Leclerc currently third in the drivers' championship, three points ahead of teammate Lewis Hamilton.

The driver expressed confidence in Vasseur's technical vision, noting significant innovations in Ferrari's chassis development. With both Leclerc and Vasseur having recently re-signed, the team's continuity suggests stability as they work to close the gap to championship contenders. His decision reinforces Ferrari's position as a consistent podium contender while the team develops toward future title challenges.
