The NRL granted special dispensation to Jai Arrow to reach 100 games for the South Sydney Rabbitohs after his early retirement due to motor neurone disease at age 30. The exception allows Arrow, 31, to appear on South Sydney's official team list and rotation for the Gold Coast Titans match and final game against the Sydney Roosters. He will wear the Rabbitohs kit, lead the team onto the field, serve as the first interchange without playing, and remain on the bench in kit for the full game.

This brings his total to 180 career NRL games and 100 for the Rabbitohs, plus State of Origin appearances. ARLC chairman Peter V'landys called it a chance to 'bring out the best of humanity'. The gesture honors Arrow's courage following his 2023 MND diagnosis.

V'landys highlighted how Arrow has 'inspired millions' and praised the Rabbitohs' 'thoughtful gesture'. Rob Burrow and Doddie Weir are cited as other high-profile athletes lost to the illness.
