British tennis star Jack Draper suffered a second-round exit at the Miami Open after falling to American giant Reilly Opelka in a battle of tie-brekes. The 6ft 11in Opelka dominated with 25 aces and 47 winners, winning 7-6 (7-3) 7-6 (7-0) to end Draper's hopes of replicating his Indian Wells quarter-final run.

Draper entered the tournament riding high after his breakthrough performance in California, his second ATP Tour event following an eight-month arm injury layoff. The 21-year-old, who had never advanced beyond the second round in Miami, made just six unforced errors but couldn't find a way past Opelka's relentless serving. The American set the tone early with four consecutive aces and never relented.

While Draper's defeat leaves him vulnerable to dropping further in the rankings ahead of the clay-court season, Katie Boulter advanced to the third round. The British No 3 defeated Clara Tauson 6-7 (4-7) 6-4 1-0 after the Danish player retired injured. Their match was disrupted by rain delays, with Boulter frustrated after losing a first-set tie-break despite leading 5-3.
