Eddie Howe has acknowledged Anthony Gordon could have played his final game for Newcastle, with Bayern Munich actively pursuing the England international. Gordon has missed Newcastle's last four matches through injury, and Bayern have opened talks over a summer transfer. The 25-year-old is Newcastle's top scorer this season with 17 goals across all competitions.

Newcastle will listen to offers for Gordon despite him having four years remaining on his current deal. The club expect he will want to explore his options given Bayern's interest, which began at the turn of the year. When asked if he was not using Gordon with one eye on the future, Howe admitted: "Part of what we will be doing we'll be looking to next year, naturally."

This appears set to be Newcastle's lowest-scoring full season under Howe. The Magpies host relegation-threatened West Ham on Sunday, and Howe must decide whether to select a player potentially heading for the exit. "If it's the right thing for the team - and I put the team and the club above any individual - then I would play him," Howe said. Gordon's agents have also been pictured in Barcelona, though no formal contact has occurred between the clubs.
