Fury-Joshua Wembley fight needs later start

A potential blockbuster heavyweight bout between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua could still be staged at Wembley Stadium, but only if authorities permit a later start time. Organizer Turki Alalshikh wants the fight to accommodate a global audience, particularly in America, and plans to discuss the possibility of a post-midnight start with London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan.

UK boxing main events typically begin between 10pm and 11pm. Alalshikh indicated that securing a late-night slot at Wembley is contingent on receiving approval for broadcast timing and viewership reach. He plans to engage with local mayors and Prince Abdullah bin Khaled bin Sultan regarding these arrangements.

Both Fury and Joshua are scheduled for preliminary bouts in late July, with potential injuries or upsets posing the primary risks to the highly anticipated fight, likely set for November. Fury fights Mariusz Wach on July 24, while Joshua faces Kristian Prenga the following day.
