Britain's Arthur Fery has reached the Wimbledon quarter-finals after a dramatic five-set victory over Grigor Dimitrov, 7-5, 3-6, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (10-7). The unseeded wildcard, ranked outside the ATP Top 100, becomes the first player in that position to reach the last eight at Wimbledon since Nick Kyrgios in 2014.

Fery, who grew up near the All England Club, found inspiration in seeing Roger Federer in the Royal Box on Centre Court, the same court where he watched Federer play the 2014 final as an 11-year-old. The 23-year-old's mental fortitude was on full display, overcoming deficits in both the fourth and fifth sets against Dimitrov and in his previous match against Zizou Bergs.

This breakout run will see Fery enter the world's Top 100 for the first time. He is set to face Flavio Cobolli in the quarter-finals. Fery's mother, Olivia Fery, also had a professional tennis career, reaching a high of world No. 225.
