F1 Academy breaks new ground this weekend as the all-female series makes its racing debut at Silverstone as part of the British Grand Prix support bill. Now in its fourth season, the championship joins F2 and F3 on Formula 1's Sprint weekend schedule at the historic circuit for the first time.

Five British drivers line up for the milestone event: Megan Bruce, Ella Lloyd, Alisha Palmowski, Rachel Robertson and Ella Stevens. Palmowski, backed by Red Bull, leads the championship after two wins from the opening three races in Canada, with teammate Bruce sitting third in the standings. The series faces what is expected to be a record 565,000 crowd across the event weekend.

Palmowski, 19, attended her first British Grand Prix as an eight-year-old in 2015. She told Sky Sports the moment 'unlocked my passion for motorsport' and described racing at Silverstone as 'a dream come true.' She recalled standing at the front row at 6am to see the cars, hooked instantly by the smell and sound.

McLaren's Lloyd, a British F4 podium finisher at the venue in 2024, said she simply loves the track and expects to enjoy every lap. F1 Academy races air Friday qualifying, Saturday's Race 1 and Sunday's Race 2 on Sky Sports F1.
