DP World Tour chief executive Guy Kinnings has confirmed that the season-ending Play-Offs will remain in the Middle East, despite ongoing regional conflict and player safety concerns. The Abu Dhabi Championship is scheduled for Yas Links from November 5-8, followed by the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates the subsequent week. Kinnings acknowledged player apprehension, citing comments from Matt Fitzpatrick and Bob Mac Intyre about travelling to the UAE amid tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.

However, he emphasized that preparations are underway at both Yas Links and Jumeirah Golf Estates, stating the tour’s intention is to proceed as planned. Rory Mc Ilroy expressed confidence in local authorities’ ability to ensure safety, noting his personal affinity for the region. Kinnings also highlighted the tour’s 2027 schedule announcement, including a revised Flagship Event timing after the Ryder Cup centenary at Adare Manor, and expressed hope for increased PGA Tour player participation in future Middle Eastern events.
