Bryson DeChambeau admits LIV Golf has "a lot" against them to secure long-term future but hopes for "one more shot" to survive beyond this season. Saudi Arabia's PIF announced in April they would end financial backing beyond the 2026 season, with the Team Championship cancelled.

DeChambeau, whose contract expires after this season, shot an opening-round 65 in Indianapolis, three strokes behind Laurie Canter. He emphasized the economic impact LIV Golf has made globally and urged people to "give us one more shot and be open minded."

LIV Golf CEO Scott O'Neil warned of a "very compressed timeline" to finalize fresh investment but praised DeChambeau's support. Dean Burmester said a meeting with the unnamed new investor went "really well" and called the proposed "LIV 2.0" model "very promising" and sustainable.

The league remains hopeful for a 2027 schedule featuring five marquee Team Championships across five continents, with five team Signature Events positioned around majors.
