Flavio Cobolli delivered a career-defining performance to upset world No. 3 Alexander Zverev 6-3, 6-3 in the ATP 500 Munich semifinals. The 23-year-old Italian fired 32 winners and lost just eight points on his first serve, securing his first Tour victory over a top-five opponent and advancing to his second ATP final of the year.

The defending champion Zverev, who had won this tournament in 2023, struggled to find rhythm against Cobolli's aggressive baseline play. Cobolli's victory makes him only the third player this season to reach ATP Tour finals on both clay and hard courts, joining Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz in that elite company.

Cobolli, who will face either Ben Shelton or Alex Molcan in Sunday's final, has climbed to 12th in the live ATP rankings. The Italian is chasing his fourth ATP Tour title and third at ATP 500 level after winning in Acapulco earlier this season and claiming his maiden trophy in Bucharest last year.
