Carragher Slams Slot's Tactics as Van Dijk Struggles in PSG Defeat

Jamie Carragher delivered a scathing critique of Liverpool manager Arne Slot's tactics after the Reds were outclassed 2-0 by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-final first leg. The Sky Sports pundit stated Slot got his system massively wrong, particularly the decision to deploy a back five that left Virgil van Dijk exposed. Carragher argued the system backfired due to man-to-man marking, forcing defenders to cover excessive ground and leaving Van Dijk, 34, uncomfortable and running across the pitch.

He suggested Van Dijk will plead with Slot never to use the back three again. Liverpool's poor season continued with their 16th defeat of the campaign, though Carragher noted PSG's superiority was even more alarming than last season's 1-0 win at Anfield.
