Cardiff secured their first Championship win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Charlton at home. Republic of Ireland star Jack Moylan scored a brace and assisted Yousef Salech's goal as the Bluebirds ended a seven-game winless streak. Moylan opened the scoring in the eighth minute after a move involving Chris Willock and Andy Robertson.

He then set up Salech for a tap-in in the 24th minute. Charlton's Tyreece Campbell pulled one back five minutes later following a through ball from Tyler Bindon. Moylan sealed the win in the 61st minute with a thunderous strike into the top corner.

The result lifts Cardiff off the bottom while Charlton, who started the day in sixth place, suffered only their second league defeat. Both managers, Brian Barry-Murphy and Nathan Jones, were set to provide post-match comments. Cardiff dominated after finding their rhythm despite early Charlton pressure from Karlan Grant and Campbell.
