Mikel Arteta has declared Arsenal are finally on the right path to unlocking Viktor Gyokeres' full potential. The Sweden striker, who struggled initially after his summer move from Sporting Lisbon, has now scored eight goals in all competitions since January 2026 and, crucially, 10 in the Premier League this season. That tally already exceeds any Arsenal player's output last term.

Arteta attributes the improvement to positive momentum and Gyokeres' growing understanding of the league and his teammates. 'We know his qualities. He is undoubtedly an incredible striker,' Arteta stated, adding the Gunners need to better understand him to feed his strengths. Gyokeres' form was evident in Sunday's 2-1 north London derby win, where he scored twice.
