Ridden by Sean D Bowen, the eight-year-old showed remarkable composure, overtaking the favorite Gaucher in the final furlong to win by half a length.

Part-owner Conor Ryan, who works for Charlie Appleby, called it one of the best days of his life. The horse, better known for jumping, had been difficult to train but showed his true potential when it mattered most. Bowen credited the wide draw for allowing him to get cover and make his winning move.

In the BetMGM All-Weather Championships Mile, Tyrrhenian Sea got revenge on Chancellor, winning by a length and a quarter. The eight-year-old, trained by Roger Varian, showed the fire still burns bright after five years on the all-weather circuit.
