Manchester United’s injury list thinned on Tuesday as coach Michael Carrick confirmed Lisandro Martínez and Patrick Dorgu will travel to the Republic of Ireland for a pre‑season camp. Martínez ends a five‑match calf lay‑off, while Dorgu, out for eight weeks with a hamstring strain, joins the squad on grass. Their return comes ahead of the Leeds United clash at Old Trafford on April 13.

United will be without captain Harry Maguire, suspended after a red card in the 2‑2 draw with Bournemouth. Mid‑fielder Benjamin Sesko and winger Bryan Mbeumo also made the 25‑man roster following missed international windows. Defenders Diogo Dalot, who missed the recent international break, and Tom Heaton, recovering from a stomach bug, remain on the sidelines, while Matthijs de Ligt stays out with a back problem.

Carrick’s side sits third in the Premier League with seven fixtures left, needing points to clinch a Champions League berth. A fit Martínez could shore up a defence that has leaked goals since his injury, while Dorgu’s pace offers a new outlet on the left. Their availability will directly influence United’s push for Europe.
