Alexander Sørloth scored a hat trick as Atlético Madrid secured their place in the Champions League last 16 with a 4-1 second-leg playoff win against Club Brugge. The Norwegian striker's three goals sealed a 7-4 aggregate victory after the tie stood at 3-3 following the first leg in Belgium. Sørloth opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, racing onto Jan Oblak's long kick to beat Simon Mignolet.

Club Brugge leveled through Joel Ordóñez's header in the 36th minute, but Atlético regained the lead three minutes into the second half when Johnny Cardoso unleashed a brilliant half-volley. Sørloth netted his second in the 76th minute after a neat interchange with substitutes Ademola Lookman and Antoine Griezmann, then completed his hat trick in the 87th minute for his 15th goal of the season.

Atlético will face either Liverpool or Tottenham in the next round for a place in the quarter-finals. The Spanish side's clinical finishing proved decisive against a Brugge team that showed resilience but ultimately fell short in the face of Sørloth's clinical finishing and Cardoso's stunning strike.
