Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams returned to full training with Spain's World Cup squad on Thursday in Chattanooga, Tennessee, boosting hopes for their opening match against Cape Verde. Both players missed Monday's friendly against Peru due to injuries, remaining at the team's training base while their teammates played.

Barcelona winger Yamal hasn't featured since April 22 because of a left hamstring problem. Coach Luis de la Fuente previously stated he expects the 16-year-old to be ready for Spain's June 15 opener in Atlanta, though his minutes may be limited initially. Williams' return provides additional attacking depth for the European champions.

Teammates celebrated the duo's recoveries by having them run the gauntlet at training's start. Spain opens Group B play against Cape Verde before facing Saudi Arabia on June 21 and Uruguay on June 26. The squad's preparations continue with both young talents back in contention for crucial early matches.

Spain enters the tournament as betting favorites alongside France, making Yamal and Williams' fitness vital for their championship aspirations. Their return strengthens an already talented roster as La Roja seeks a second World Cup title.
