UEFA has fined Real Madrid €15,000 (£13,000/$17,400) and ordered a suspended partial closure of the Bernabéu after a supporter was filmed making a Nazi salute during a Champions League match. The European governing body cited the incident as racist and/or discriminatory behavior by the club's supporters.

In addition to the fine, Real Madrid must close 500 adjacent seats in the lower south stand for one UEFA competition match. This penalty has been suspended for a one-year probationary period. The incident occurred before Real Madrid's recent Champions League victory over Benfica, prompting the club to identify and remove the fan from the stadium.

Real Madrid condemned the gesture, stating they oppose any expression that incites violence and hatred in sports and society. This marks the second recent UEFA punishment for alleged Nazi salutes at Champions League games, following a €30,000 fine imposed on Tottenham Hotspur for a similar incident involving their supporters.
