Neymar's Santos Manager Vojvoda Sacked After Relegation Scare

Juan Pablo Vojvoda has been dismissed as manager of Brazilian club Santos following their 2-1 defeat to Internacional, leaving the team precariously close to Serie A relegation.

Santos, currently just one point above Internacional and the relegation zone after seven games, suffered their first league win of the season at the hands of the rivals. The Argentine coach, who took over in August 2025 replacing Cleber Xavier, oversaw a slight improvement in results last season but has struggled this term, winning only four of their 15 matches. Their recent form is particularly poor, with just one win in the last five games and a humiliating exit from the Campeonato Paulista to second-tier Novorizontino.

Vojvoda's dismissal came immediately after the Internacional loss, denying him a post-match press conference. Santos have yet to announce his successor, plunging the club further into uncertainty as they battle to avoid the drop.

Neymar was notably left out of Brazil's March squad, a decision Santos president Joao Basso later linked to criticism of the forward.
