His replacement Saadane, currently at Al Fateh SC, has earned just 15 caps since 2015 and represents a significant drop in quality for the Atlas Lions backline.

Ezzalzouli's tournament hopes ended after a collision with teammate Chadi Riad during Morocco's 1-1 draw with Norway on Sunday. The Real Betis wide man sustained a right leg injury that failed to heal within the 48-hour fitness window. His replacement Sbaï only made his Morocco debut during the recent warm-up matches, lacking international experience at this level.

These losses weaken Morocco's squad depth ahead of their challenging Group C campaign. Without Aguerd's defensive leadership and Ezzalzouli's attacking flair, head coach Mohamed Ouahbi faces a difficult opening match against Brazil in New York.
