MLS Commissioner Don Garber expressed strong interest in bringing Mohamed Salah to Major League Soccer after the Liverpool star announced his departure from Anfield. Speaking at the SBJ Business of Soccer event in Atlanta, Garber said he would "love" to see the Egyptian forward join the league, calling him "what a great player he would be in MLS."

Salah's contract with Liverpool expires this season, making him a free agent despite having a year remaining on his deal. The 33-year-old faces competition from Saudi club Al Ittihad, which sources tell ESPN is ready to resume its pursuit of the forward. MLS has successfully attracted other international stars like Lionel Messi, Son Heung-Min, and Thomas Müller in recent years.

Garber has been actively recruiting Salah since December, encouraging him to speak with current MLS stars about their experiences. While San Diego FC and the Chicago Fire aren't currently pursuing Salah, LAFC could potentially enter the race if they adjust their roster model this summer. The MLS transfer window runs from July 13 to September 2, giving teams a two-month window to make their move.
