Michael Carrick has dismissed concerns over Lisandro Martinez's commitment to Manchester United, insisting the defender remains determined to improve following a string of costly errors. Martinez was sent off against Chelsea after giving away a penalty, and recently contributed to Tottenham's late equaliser at Old Trafford. The 28-year-old Argentina international is out of contract at season's end, with speculation linking his behaviour to a desire to leave.
Despite this, Carrick backed his player, stating the dressing room is positive and commitment is not an issue. The manager's position remains under severe pressure after nine games without a win. United face Roma and Aston Villa during the international break, with Carrick choosing to focus on the upcoming Roma match rather than his own future.
Kobbie Mainoo acknowledged fan frustration, stating the squad owes supporters better results. United return to Old Trafford on Tuesday for a crucial game ahead of the international break.
