Boston World Cup organizers have secured a critical financial commitment to resolve a dispute threatening their FIFA stadium license, according to a letter sent to Foxborough town officials. The committee, led by Mike Loynd, guaranteed it would pay public safety costs within two business days of receiving invoices, backed by a $2 million cash reserve and an additional $30 million expected soon. Kraft Sports & Entertainment, which owns Gillette Stadium, will also provide financial support if needed.

This addresses the town's demand for upfront guarantees covering nearly $8 million in police costs, currently delayed by a federal grant tied to the government shutdown. The letter asserts the committee has "the means to pay all amounts" for World Cup events. Foxborough officials must still vote on the license by March 17th, with the stadium set to host its first match on June 13th between Scotland and Haiti.
