AC Milan have completed the signing of Portugal forward Gonçalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain for a reported fee of €74 million ($84 million), making it the most expensive acquisition in the club's history. The 25-year-old joins on a contract through the 2030-31 season, becoming new manager Rúben Amorim's first signing since taking charge this summer.

The transfer smashes Milan's previous record of €49.5 million paid for Rafael Leão in 2019, marking a clear statement of intent from the Rossoneri after what their American owners called 'an unequivocal failure' last season. Ramos bolsters an attack already featuring Leão and Christian Pulisic as Milan look to rebuild under Amorim's leadership.

Ramos arrives at the San Siro after two seasons with PSG, where he scored 45 goals in 131 appearances and won 12 trophies including two Champions League titles. He began his career at Benfica before moving to the French capital in 2023, and has represented Portugal since November 2022, often playing behind Cristiano Ronaldo in the national team setup.

The signing demonstrates Milan's ambition to compete immediately while Amorim implements his vision, though questions remain about whether Ramos can consistently deliver at the highest level after mixed performances in Paris.
