The NHL announced the 2027 All-Star Weekend will feature an international format at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. Teams will represent Canada, Finland, Sweden, the United States and a 'World' team with international players from other countries.

Commissioner Gary Bettman confirmed the 3-on-3 round-robin tournament format with 9 skaters and 2 goalies per team. Teams play four 5-minute games, with the winner claiming a $2 million prize. Fan voting will determine eight players from each team, with NHL/NHLPA selecting the remaining three spots.

Despite uncertainty about their status in other international events, Russian players will be permitted on the World team. The league will follow international hockey community's lead on Russia's participation for future tournaments like the World Cup of Hockey.
