Jack Eichel and Ivan Barbashev sparked a third-period comeback, lifting the Vegas Golden Knights to a 3-1 victory over Colorado. Eichel tied the game with his first goal in 11 games before setting up Barbashev's go-ahead tally with 8:38 remaining. Barbashev sealed the win with an empty-netter.

The victory gives Vegas a commanding 2-0 series lead. Since 1982, road teams starting 2-0 in conference finals hold a perfect 13-0 record. Carter Hart stopped 29 shots while Colorado's Ross Colton opened scoring early. The Avalanche's 45-0-0 record when leading after two periods proved meaningless.

The Avalanche hope to have defenseman Cale Makar back for Game 3 after missing two games with an upper-body injury. Vegas defenseman Brayden McNabb also briefly left but returned. Game 3 shifts to Las Vegas on Sunday with Colorado facing elimination.
