The Carolina Hurricanes are keeping receipts. After a decisive 4-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday, the Hurricanes' social media team pointed out a statistic that also poked at the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies.
The team posted that the Hurricanes had won more games in Philly over the last nine days than the Flyers, Eagles, and Phillies combined this month. The jab landed because the Flyers have not won a game yet this season, while the Phillies lost 2-1 to the Atlanta Braves in the wild-card round without even making it back home. The Eagles are 1-2 at home, with their lone win coming over the Washington Commanders in Week 1.
Philly sports fans may hope the trend reverses soon. The Flyers play the Seattle Kraken at home Tuesday, and the Eagles host the Carolina Panthers this week. The new-look Philadelphia 76ers also have four regular-season home games in October.
The Hurricanes, for their part, will not return to the City of Brotherly Love this season.
