Ben Solak joined ESPN in 2024 as a national NFL analyst after stints at The Ringer, Bleeding Green Nation and The Draft Network. Week 4 featured a record 293 flags, the most since 2019. Solak's seven thoughts for Week 5 include: the Jaguars are the class of the AFC with a 12-2 record since their Week 9 bye last season, ranking second in offensive points per drive and third defensively.
Despite concerns about strength of schedule, their 34.5% pressure rate against Joe Burrow shows a dominant pass rush. The Bengals don't need to pass more, while the Rams need to rediscover play-action. Other notes: Jordan Addison missed practice, Bears QB Justin Fields is dealing with a hip injury, and the Lions' defense lacks quick fixes.
