Saints Coach Moore: Kamara and Etienne Can Share Snaps

New Orleans Saints coach Kellen Moore says there will be enough playing time for both Alvin Kamara and Travis Etienne in the backfield. Moore addressed the situation during the NFL's league meeting, where he was asked about managing the Saints' crowded running back room after signing Etienne to a four-year, $11.8 million per year contract.

Kamara's future with the team had been uncertain since the Etienne signing, especially given his recent struggles and injuries. The 30-year-old running back is coming off a disappointing season with career-lows in rushing yards (471) and touchdowns (one). Moore emphasized that Etienne's addition creates opportunities rather than problems, noting the team's history of successfully using multiple backs.

The Saints' running back room already includes Devin Neal, Audric Estime, Kendre Miller, and Ty Chandler alongside Kamara and Etienne. Moore pointed to Kamara's successful pairing with Mark Ingram as evidence that multiple backs can thrive together, with both players exceeding 1,500 scrimmage yards in 2017.
