The Baltimore Ravens have waived rookie quarterback Diego Pavia to make room for veteran center Ethan Pocic, who officially signed his free agent contract. Pavia, who was signed as an undrafted free agent in April, became the first Heisman Trophy finalist to go undrafted in 12 years. His release leaves the Ravens with three quarterbacks on the roster: starter Lamar Jackson, veteran Tyler Huntley, and undrafted former UConn QB Joe Fagnano.

Pocic agreed to a one-year contract with the Ravens last week, with a maximum value of $4.5 million. Pavia had a standout college career, finishing second in total yards per game among FBS players and leading Vanderbilt to a 10-3 record. He was named first-team All-American, SEC Offensive Player of the Year, and won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. Questions surrounding his age (24), height (5-foot-10), and a controversial social media post after the Heisman ceremony contributed to his draft status.
