The Baltimore Ravens are set to bring back Anthony Weaver as their defensive coordinator, sources confirmed. Weaver returns to Baltimore after two seasons with the Miami Dolphins, where Miami's defense fell from fifth to 22nd in yards allowed.

Weaver previously served as Baltimore’s defensive line coach from 2021 to 2023 and played for the Ravens from 2002 to 2005. His hiring follows a disappointing 24th-ranked defense under former DC Zach Orr, who was dismissed after two ineffective seasons.

Although Weaver holds the defensive coordinator title, new head coach Jesse Minter stated he will call defensive plays. Weaver was a finalist for the Ravens' head coaching job and interviewed for four other vacancies this offseason, including roles with the Falcons and Steelers.

Baltimore continues building Minter’s staff, also hiring Declan Doyle as offensive coordinator. Fans hope Weaver’s experience and familiarity with the organization can revitalize a defense that hasn’t ranked in the bottom half of the league since 2000.
