Evan Williams delivered a breakout performance for the Green Bay Packers in a 17-14 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With linebacker Edgerrin Cooper sidelined by a likely season-ending Achilles injury, Williams stepped up with a crucial sack on the final series. He also recorded his fifth career interception, overturned via replay, and finished with seven tackles, two pass breakups, and two quarterback hits.
Defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon trusted Williams on blitzes during the game's final defensive plays, a responsibility Williams embraced. Linebacker Xavier Mc Kinney praised Williams' progression, calling him a mature and versatile player. Teammate Tucker Kraft highlighted Williams' physicality and playmaking ability.
The Packers improved to 2-2, relying on young talent to fill the void left by Cooper.
