Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was charged Thursday with misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor criminal damage to property, according to Wisconsin court records. The charges stem from a May 23 domestic violence incident at his home near Green Bay, with formal charges filed more than three months after his arrest.

Brown County District Attorney David L. Lasee stated that his office conducted a thorough review of evidence, including forensic materials provided by law enforcement. Both charges are Class A misdemeanors, punishable by up to $10,000 in fines or nine months in prison.

Per the criminal complaint, Jacobs' girlfriend alleged that after discovering messages with other women, a physical struggle occurred in which Jacobs grabbed her arm and later threw her to the ground, causing head injuries. Officers observed visible injuries, including redness and a bump on her head.

Jacobs' attorneys, including David Z. Chesnoff, noted that the charges do not include domestic violence and will be addressed in court. The NFL is investigating and may suspend Jacobs, while the Packers said they are aware of the charges and will cooperate with the league. Jacobs has a court appearance scheduled for Nov. 17.
