ESPN surveyed more than 70 NFL executives, coaches, and scouts to rank the league's top 10 offensive tackles for 2026. Penei Sewell of the Detroit Lions claimed the No. 1 spot at age 25, edging perennial standout Trent Williams of the San Francisco 49ers. Sewell earned praise for his physicality and consistency, though his 89.6% pass block win rate last season fell outside the top 40. He transitions from right to left tackle this year, a move coordinators will watch closely.

Williams, 37, posted a 92.2% pass block win rate and a 79.5% run block win rate — best among the top-10 group — reinforcing his Hall of Fame trajectory. Tristan Wirfs of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers landed third despite missing five games with a knee injury; his 95.5% pass block win rate ranked third among tackles. Jordan Mailata (Eagles) and Laremy Tunsil (Commanders) rounded out the top five. Tunsil leads all tackles at $30.1 million annually, yet no offensive tackle reaches the $31 million threshold that quarterbacks, receivers, edge rushers, cornerbacks, and defensive tackles have cleared.

Three players debuted on the list, including Darnell Wright of the Chicago Bears at No. 6. The 24-year-old anchored a line that ranked third in rushing, posting a 95.2% pass block win rate. Lane Johnson (Eagles) placed seventh despite missing eight games with a Lisfranc injury. Two of the top 10 remain on rookie contracts, signaling a youth movement that could eventually reset the position's pay scale.
