San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York will not attend Sunday's home opener against the Miami Dolphins at Levi's Stadium, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. York, who was in Australia for the team's season-opening 27-7 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne on Sept. 10 but did not attend that game either, is staying away to avoid creating a distraction.

The NFL is expected to announce a decision on potential discipline for York "soon," according to Schefter's sources. The league is reviewing the matter under its personal conduct policy following York's arrest last month in Ohio on suspicion of engaging in prostitution.

York pleaded no contest on Aug. 24 to two misdemeanor charges in Columbiana County Court. Court records obtained by ESPN show York allegedly responded to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranged to pay $140 for sexual activity. He was arrested upon arriving at the meeting location with the cellphone used to arrange the encounter.

Originally charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools, the prostitution charge was amended to disorderly conduct as part of a plea agreement resolving the case.
