Jackson's Boxing Focus After Tough Season

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has turned to boxing during his offseason workouts, posting videos of himself throwing punches with coach Dawson Saint Jour. The two-time MVP wrote, "I salute every boxer out there" on Instagram as he prepares for his ninth NFL season. Jackson, 29, is working to bounce back from his first losing season (6-7) and injuries that sidelined him for four games.

Jackson's recent season saw him throw for 2,549 yards with 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions while rushing for 349 yards and two scores. The Baltimore Ravens restructured his contract to create $40 million in cap space after failing to reach an extension before the new league year began. Jackson still has two years remaining on his current deal.

The boxing regimen represents a strategic shift for Jackson, who has absorbed 1,379 hits since 2018, more than any other quarterback. Unlike Joe Flacco, who used boxing for balance and core strength in 2017, Jackson appears focused on delivering punches rather than avoiding them this offseason.
