Glenn Declares Geno Smith Jets' Starter Amid QB Roster Uncertainty

New York Jets coach Aaron Glenn has publicly declared Geno Smith the team's starting quarterback, ending any doubt about the veteran's role. Speaking to the NFL Network at the league meetings, Glenn stated unequivocally, 'No doubt about it, he's our guy.' This declaration comes despite Smith being one of three quarterbacks on the Jets' roster, acquired in a March 10 trade with the Las Vegas Raiders. The other QBs are Brady Cook and Bailey Zappe, both with limited starting experience.

Glenn's statement solidifies Smith's position as the undisputed starter, a move the Jets made with the clear intention of making him their leader. The team is paying $3.3 million of Smith's salary, with the Raiders covering the remaining $16.2 million.
