Derek Carr has confirmed he would consider unretiring from the NFL, but only for a team with legitimate Super Bowl aspirations. The 34-year-old former Saints quarterback made the revelation on his 'Home Grown' podcast with brother David Carr, stating he'd need to be healthy and have a realistic championship opportunity.

Carr retired in May after the New Orleans Saints revealed he had a labral tear and 'significant degenerative changes to his rotator cuff.' Despite these concerns, David Carr joked about his brother's throwing ability, suggesting Derek's health may be better than previously reported. Any interested team would need to negotiate trade compensation with New Orleans since Carr retired with two years remaining on his contract.

In his final NFL season, Carr threw for 2,145 yards with 15 touchdowns and five interceptions in 10 games. The four-time Pro Bowl selection accumulated 41,245 career passing yards with 257 touchdowns and 112 interceptions during his time with the Raiders and Saints. His willingness to return creates potential trade market speculation, though Carr emphasized he wouldn't unretire for just any team.
