Indianapolis Colts tight end Tyler Warren sustained a groin injury during Wednesday's joint practice with the Atlanta Falcons and did not return to the field.

The injury adds to the Colts' growing list of injury concerns among their pass catchers, as top wide receiver Alec Pierce remains sidelined following offseason ankle surgery. Warren caught 76 passes as a rookie last season and was considered one of the team's most reliable targets.

Colts coach Shane Steichen provided no specific timeline for Warren's recovery, but a source told ESPN that initial assessments suggest the injury is not serious. Warren had been performing well in training camp and appeared to be building strong chemistry with quarterback Daniel Jones.

Warren, the No. 14 overall pick in the 2025 draft, is one of four tight ends expected to make the final roster. Veterans Mo Alie-Cox and Drew Ogletree primarily serve as blockers, while 2023 fifth-round selection Will Mallory has emerged as a capable receiving option, leading the team with six catches for 80 yards in their preseason opener against the New England Patriots.
