Carson Beck couldn't sleep on Wednesday night, but Thursday's Hall of Fame Game at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium gave him a chance to show what he can do. The rookie, a third‑round pick, completed 15 of 19 passes for 188 yards and a touchdown, finishing with a 125.4 quarterback rating in a 33‑30 loss to the Carolina Panthers. He stayed calm in the pocket, used play‑action and threaded passes in tight pockets and deep routes.

Coaching staff praised his poise. Cardinals coach Mike La Fleur said Beck "just lives by the play" and gave credit to offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett and quarterbacks coach Matt Schaub for keeping him focused one play at a time. The rookie also made key throws, including a 49‑yard pass to Jalen Brooks and a back‑shoulder fade to Simi Fehoko that put Arizona up 14‑7 early in the second quarter.

Beck noted the difference between a 13‑minute NFL halftime and the shorter college break, saying the experience was "definitely interesting." He remains confident that he can continue to improve as he gains more exposure in the NFL.
