LeBron James will miss his second consecutive game as the Los Angeles Lakers announced he is out for Sunday's matchup against the New York Knicks. The 41-year-old superstar is dealing with a left elbow contusion and left foot arthritis after injuring his elbow in Thursday's loss to the Denver Nuggets.

James sustained the injury late in the fourth quarter when he fell to the floor after absorbing contact from Nikola Jokic while scoring a layup. The four-time MVP described the pain as "super intense" compared to a typical funny bone situation. This marks the first time James has missed back-to-back games this season after missing the first 14 games due to sciatica.

In his record-setting 23rd season, James is averaging 21.4 points on 50.4% shooting, along with 5.6 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game. The Lakers have managed a 12-7 record without him this season. Coach JJ Redick confirmed that Deandre Ayton and Maxi Kleber will be available after sitting out Friday's win over Indiana.
