Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid will miss at least three games after suffering a strained right oblique during Thursday's win over Miami. The team announced Saturday that an MRI revealed the injury, which occurred during the 76ers' 124-117 victory where Embiid posted 26 points and 11 rebounds.

Embiid, who averaged 29 points in February - the highest in the Eastern Conference - will sit out Sunday's game in Boston. He'll be re-evaluated after the team's back-to-back home games against Washington on Tuesday and Charlotte on Wednesday. The injury comes at a critical time as the Sixers push for playoff positioning.

The 7-foot-2 center has been the driving force behind Philadelphia's recent success, and his absence creates a significant void in both scoring and rebounding. Backup centers Kelly Oubre Jr. and Jared McCain will need to step up in Embiid's absence as the team navigates this challenging stretch without their MVP-caliber player.
